What I did on Michelle's Birthday

Post type: LIST

First I'd like to wish my BFF Michelle a very happy birthday with all the homework and jobmine.

Can't get too creative today, here's what I did:

  • Morning- went to mandatory seminar and forgot to bring my clickers for attendance- must remember to talk to Angie about it tomorrow.
  • Lunch had a box of poutine and asked for extra gravy- still half left, breakfast tomorrow =]
  • CS class- finally went after a week and a half. Sux like always, best part is the breadboards circuits. Must download a circuit app on my phone to play more.
  • Roomies decided to go work out @ Queen's Main Campus ARC after a century of no working out:
  ->

  • Decided we were gonna reward our workout motivation with Menchies- NO ORIGINAL TART FLAVOUR! BOOOOOO D'8, Menchies, y u gotta break the machine on our fav. flavour?

  • BlackBerry 10?... It's very hard to be impressed by BlackBerry, to be quite honest. I really don't see how this smart phone would have a tidal wave of consumer and overturn the market as our very proud national newspaper The Globe and Mail would like to put it...

A very comfortable way to sleep on train for short people

Post type: Picture Book, Instruction Manual

Hey SHORTIES! (Anyone height <=155cm) Aren't you ever so envious of giant guys whose heads can lean back above the top of a train/car seat?

Can't move your chair back either because you are too self-conscious and afraid of taking up the space of the person behind you?

Welllllll...... Here's a solution for you that I discovered works miraculously well for me (height=148cm)

For short people like us, who have extremely short upper bodies, there are amazing things that we can do and those telephone poles cannot:

By the Pythagorean Theorem, the diagonal length from our head to our butt is shorter than the sum of the squares of the bottom length of the seat and a chosen top spot against the back of the seat.

HENCE! If you are travelling with a backpack that fits perfectly into the void between your back and the corner of the seat, you will comfortably make yourself a very nice little "beach chair" to lean against.

VOILA! My new discovery today from my Via train trip Toronto-Kingston. Hope this benefits other shorties like me in the future!

Granma...

Post type: PICTURE BOOK

So my grandma is deaf, nearly deaf, we tried hearing aids and they don't work anymore, cause she never had them on since she started getting deaf. But today I realized she might not be as deaf...another one of my fml moments.

I went to my beloved high school today- The Woodlands School

Except the weather today was like this:

I went by the "11th" route and Mississauga public transit:
+

By the time I got to school my boots were like this:

I got to see my new cello: Ah, she is a beauty:

Got a ride home from my teacher, shoes still wet:

Got home realized I don't have door key:

Went to the backyard, hoping to get in through the window:

Grandma doesn't hear me... has to go there:

Inside my shed:

Grandma doesn't hear me:

She is sitting on the sofa... I can see what's going on in her TV, this door stands between me and warm house...I hit the glass so hard for 10 minutes as if it's gonna break... doesn't hear me...
Half an hour later, grandma decides to take a walk, sees me like this:

opens door for me.

Ahhhh cozy home...

Later on grandma came and said:
"何璇儿你是敲前面门儿了不,我第一声就听着了,我寻思你在楼上你爸妈出去了,就合计不给开,不管,完了你又来敲后门儿来了,我寻思还不给开,你咋没钥匙呢?”
“你妈他们都说我聋,其实我第一声就听着了,没给你开”

Oh dear grams, I was freezing my toes out for half an hour =.=|||

Maybe my grandma isn't hitting dementia as quick as we thought she is...(nor as deaf as we thought)

Oh No, already broke rule number...

Post type: SHORT EXCERPT

Oh no, I'd already broken rule... 6. "This blog shall be updated at least once a day..." after day 1...

Anyways, I was off to orientation leader training for the past 3 days back in Waterloo. It was a lot of leadership jargon but some bonding times with other leaders were fun. I was tardy both days Saturday and Sunday, and fell asleep multiple times, very inappropriate. Also got some very nice oranges for free, they taste good!

Real glad our ancestors found the MC, the boss of all buildings on campus. Really like the MathCnD new furnitures! =) It's fun to be back in Waterloo!

A Real, Living Nintendo Theme Park

Blog Type: LIST, PICTURE BOOK

A collection of random thoughts came to me suddenly...

  • The most important thing on my mind right now:

Roomies, we gotta do grocery shopping! Or else we'll be eating snow!

  • What I should be doing right now:

I'm kind of supposed to be in class right now...

  • My favourite movie couple, in spirit of the upcoming Academy Awards:

OMG, Wall-E and Eve, you guys stole my heart the first moment I saw that garbage collector!

  • In my very short lifetime, one thing I would love to see, and go with my children, grandchildren, or buy a house near there just so I can go everyday:
----->
I would kill to go to a REAL Nintendo World theme park in my lifetime to ride a Yoshi-Go-Round! If Disney can reveal its magic to the world, why can't you? God of video games, please grant my wish!
